orange stuff & confetti system

The power of this image is the color and scale.. I could see us doing smt similar? it also seems like that could be very transformative.

Confetti system is based in NY and it's amazing.
Their use of paper and other materials is very nice. I also like how they've transformed smt small into a bigger scale.. definitely a source of inspiration for me.

plastic!

Today a girl at the cash of Coles supermarket asked me if I want double amount of bags!

These are notes from todays brainstorming and thinking things related to plastic and our project:
Today we argreed that we're going to use plastic(s) as our material.

We are experimenting and trying different techniques with cups, straws and plastic bags.
We'll meet up in 3 days and see the results and then decide which way we're going.

Here are some topics of our conversation:

plastic bags are now banned in many countries but not yet in Australia

recycling

making a performance or a performative sculpture, interaction with the shape, changing or moving shape(s)

two sides, something revealing when you look closer or when you look the shape from another side, the variation in the shape

cheap vs expensive

the feel of the material

use of plastic for hygienic reasons, multi packaging

garbage mountains, the plastic ending up to the animals, seas and nature

to be surrounded by plastic

This is the first test with plastic cups. The cups has 5 slices, this peaces are turn down in the middle and fixed with nylon thread.

Tests with plastic bags and aluminium foil

The chrochet is made out of plastic bags. It is looking like a basket. There are used about 40 plastic bags. The other loops are formed with aluminum foil. The string is very stiff, therefore the loops are very big.
