First tryings with bubble wrap chrochet. It turned out to be quiet hard to work with, but the surface still looks really interesting.
We decided not to work with that material, but still use plastic as itself. The variations you can work with it are quite interesting for us, so we focused on using plastig bags and cups and straws to work with and did some more trials with that (both crochet and hexagramm).
The concept here already was that we somehow wanted to work with everyday objects/materials and turn them into beautiful art, changing their meaning by putting them into a new context.
Basic ideas we wanted to include were to change the scale and the amount of the objects/materials used and to create a kind of surrounding or cave like structure. Through that we want to represent how plastic is present everywhere in the world, but people don't even notice anymore. Therefor for most of our trials we wanted them to have a seethrough character. Also plastic has its good and bad sides if used, so that is a contradiction we found very interesting.
